NATHAN MELTZER & DANAE DÖRKEN

Danae Dörken

Two outstanding musicians of the younger generation, the violinist Nathan Meltzer and the pianist Danae Dörken, team up as a duo to perform within the sumptuous atmosphere of Castle Albrechtsberg. Meltzer, an American who studied at the famous Juilliard School, has made a name for himself as one of the rising young violin talents, and will be familiar to Dresden audiences from his brilliant performances at the Moritzburg Festival. The German-Greek pianist Danae Dörken, born in 1991, is equally at home on the world’s concert stages, winning audiences with her stupendous technique and unique expressivity. Their duo program brings together violin sonatas by Beethoven, Janáček and Fauré and a world premiere by the New York-based composer Hannah Ishizaki – samples from the duo literature of various styles and epochs. Don’t miss this extraordinary chamber music evening!
