8. COOKIES

This website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files automatically generated by your browser that are stored on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not harm your device, contain no viruses, Trojans or other malware. Cookies contain information generated depending on the specific device. This, however, does not mean that we are directly informed of your identity. On the one hand, the use of cookies serves to make your use of our website more pleasant. Thus, we use so-called session cookies to recognize if you have already visited individual pages on our website. These are automatically deleted after you have closed our page. In addition, we also use temporary cookies to optimize the user-friendliness of our website; these are saved on your device for a certain, pre-defined period of time. When you visit our website again to make use of our services, we automatically recognize that you have visited our website before and which information you submitted and settings you chose, so that you do not have to enter them again. On the other hand, we also use cookies to keep statistics on the use of our website, and for analytical purposes, in order to optimize our offers to you (cf. Item 5). These cookies enable us to recognize a repeat visit to our website; they are automatically deleted after a pre-determined period of time. The data processed by cookies serves to safeguard our legitimate interests and those of others, pursuant to Art. 6 Section 1 Sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You can configure your browser so that no cookies are stored on your computer or that it displays a warning message before a new cookie is installed. Completely deactivating cookies, however, may lead to your being prevented from using all the functions of our website.

9. TRACKING TOOLS

For purposes of user-friendly design and continuous optimizing of our web pages, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter: “Google“). In this context, user profiles are generated under a pseudonym and cookies (cf. Item 4) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as

  • operating system
  • referrer URL (the page you visited before)
  • host name of the computer (IP address)
  • time and date of the server request

The information is used to analyze the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services in connection with website and internet use, for purposes of market research and user-friendly design of these internet pages. This information may also be transferred to third parties, if this is required by law or inasmuch as data is processed by third parties. In no instance will your IP address be merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are anonymized so that they cannot be recognized (IP masking). This means that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeip()”. IP addresses are thus processed in an abbreviated form, preventing an assignment to specific persons. You can prevent the installation of these cookies by choosing your browser settings accordingly; in this case, however, we point out that certain functions of this website may not be fully available. In addition, you can prevent the transmission of the data generated by the cookie that is related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de). As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially in the case of browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent data collection by Google Analytics by clicking on this link. This places an opt-out cookie on your device which prevents the collection of data when you visit this website in the future. The opt-out cookie is only active for this browser and only for our website, and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will have to re-install the opt-out cookie. Further information on data protection related to Google Analytics can be found in the Google Analytics help section (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de).
