MUSIC LOUNGE | SERIES ORIGINAL SOUND

SIMONE KERMES & AMICI VENEZIANI

Amici Veneziani

In a programme entitled »baRock«, the soprano Simone Kermes takes advantage of the relaxed and entertaining format of the Music Lounge to demonstrate that baroque and rock music may be separated by centuries, but have much in common in terms of atmosphere and drive. Together with the ensemble Amici Veneziani, the singer combines arias by baroque masters with works of later epochs and current hits. Thus, evergreens by Merula, Purcell and Vivaldi meet modern hits from Weill to Sting. The ballroom at the Parkhotel in Dresden’s Weißer Hirsch neighbourhood is a new performance venue for the festival, and it could not be more suited to this musically diverse programme. A very special feast for the ears!
