Laufey Lín Jónsdóttir, or just Laufey, is an Icelandic-Chinese musician. Born in Reykjavik and now living in Los Angeles, the singer and multi-instrumentalist began her career in the midst of the pandemic, and it took off steeply. Since live performances were impossible at the time, she worked via the platforms TikTok and Instagram – where she has millions of followers today. Classically trained, the young musician’s songs are inspired by the golden 1930s and 1940s in the USA. She herself describes her style as a mix of jazz pop, bedroom pop and modern jazz. Laufey, whose international tours immediately sell out, will appear in Dresden for the first time.
