DRESDEN FRANKFURT DANCE COMPANY

With »Welcome«, the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company – under the artistic directorship of Ioannis Mandafounis since the beginning of this season – presents an intriguing double bill at the Festspielhaus Hellerau: in »Wesenwelt«, the Norwegian choreographer Kristin Ryg Helgebostad and her compatriot, the composer and glockenspiel player Laura Marie Rueslåtten, explore how every individual is an essential part of a complex, ever-changing whole. »Warpscapes«, a choreography by the Berlin-based Romanian Sergiu Matis, deals with current issues such as the climate emergency and loss of biodiversity. The dancers illustrate the continuous movement our environment is subject to, exposing the urgency they feel about effecting radical change in a society endangered by mass extinction.
