Robert Oberaigner
Robert Oberaigner studied clarinet at the Vienna Music Academy. He completed his studies with Sabine Meyer at the Lübeck Music Academy. At the age of 19, he made his solo debut at Vienna’s Konzerthaus. Chamber music performances took Robert Oberaginer to Vienna’s Musikverein, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Mozarteum Salzburg, the Cologne Philharmonie and other halls. He is also a regular guest at festivals such as the BBC Proms, the Lucerne Festival, the Salzburg Festival and the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York. In 2003 he was appointed principal clarinettist of the Gürzenich Orchestra, with whom he has also frequently performed as a soloist. He is a popular guest at the Berlin Philharmonic, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian State Orchestra and the Super World Orchestra in Japan, and has performed for many years with the Camerata Salzburg. In 2013 the Staatskapelle Dresden under its chief conductor Christian Thieleman appointed him its new principal clarinettist.
