Exciting classical and jazz musicians chosen by famous artist mentors take to the stage of the Kulturpalast for this »Night of the Young Stars«. They include the sisters Kristīne and Margarita Balanas from Latvia, who are in high demand both as soloists and as a duo. The percussionist Aaron Grünwald, a student of Martin Grubinger at Salzburg’s Mozarteum, is winning an enthusiastic following with his performances. The event also features the pianist Maxim Lando, who first came to international attention in 2017, when he performed with Lang Lang and others during the Opening Night Gala at Carnegie Hall. The Catalan trumpeter and vocalist Andrea Motis and the trumpeter Bill Petry from Berlin, whose talent was discovered by Till Brönner, are two exciting jazz talents of the younger generation. The slate of performers is completed by the Cuban Ernesto Herrera Del Río, recently appointed principal horn of the Leipzig Symphony Orchestra, and the American composer Hannah Ishizaki, who already held a scholarship from the Foundation Art and Music for Dresden in 2022 and will write a piece for all participating young stars. A night of musical discoveries is guaranteed!
