PIANO RECITAL ANTON MEJIAS

Anton Mejias

Born in 2001, the Finnish-Cuban pianist Anton Mejias is among the rising young keyboard artists of our days and has made a name for himself on the international concert circuit due to his outstanding talent. He currently studies at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, one of the world’s greatest conservatories. Mejias will perform Part II of the famous »Well-Tempered Clavier« by Bach, the composer who has fascinated him since his childhood. The pianist and pedagogue Gary Graffman has praised the way this is reflected in his interpretation: »Something about his Bach is absolutely unique […], and I think he may be remembered as one of the great Bach players of our times.« When the musician combines works by the baroque master with the world premiere of preludes by the American composer Philip Lasser, this promises to open intriguing sonic horizons.
