JAZZRAUSCH BIGBAND

Jazzrausch Bigband

The Jazzrausch Bigband, founded by the trombonist Roman Sladek with a few of his fellow students at the Munich Academy of Music and Theatre in 2014, has achieved what can only be called cult status today. In its concerts, this Techno Big Band combines jazz, classical and electronic dance music in an incomparable way. Whether as the house band of Munich’s Techno club Harry Klein, at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg or at jazz festivals in Nairobi, New York and Shanghai, the Jazzrausch Bigband has enormous stage presence, winning enthusiastic followers worldwide. In its programme »Bruckner’s Breakdown«, an orchestral sound-cloud of dubstep grooves sweeps concert halls and festival stages. Especially for Leonhard Kuhn’s arrangements of Bruckner’s symphonies and his new compositions, the ensemble has been expanded to include horns, percussion, bassoons and three string players, making these concerts a crucible of our musical present times. After its 2019 festival debut at the Reithalle, the Jazzrausch Bigband now brings its homage to Bruckner to the Stromwerk.
