ÄTNA & DRESDNER KAPELLSOLISTEN

Gordon Hamilton
Ätna
Jan Vogler

Ätna – that’s Demian Kappenstein and Inéz Schaefer. The two of them first performed at a 90ies throwback party at the Dresden Music Academy and have attained international renown since then. The music of the electropop duo from Dresden is notable for its mix of minimalism, rich rhythms and glorious vocals. Elements of American jazz are discernible, as are influences of the Far East. Everything is real, every effect is controlled live. At the Kulturpalast, Ätna will be supported by the Dresdner Kapellsolisten and their rich string sound. Together with the conductor and arranger Gordon Hamilton, they present old and new songs in versions never heard before, creating their own sound worlds, far from stylistic conventions and boundaries of any kind. This is new, surprising, courageous and, most importantly, eminently danceable.
