SVEN HELBIG: »SCHÖNE TÖNE«

Anything the composer Sven Helbig encounters, notices, is gifted or simply likes – especially if it includes orchestral instruments – he presents to an enthusiastic audience in his weekly radio show »Schöne Töne« on the »Radio Eins« channel. Here, beautiful sounds originating far from the orchestra pit – Electronica, Ambient, new or ancient sounds – merge effortlessly and in an original way with classical orchestra music. Venetian Snares meets Alexander Scriabin, Jóhann Jóhannsson meets Richard Strauss, Boards of Canada meets Johann Sebastian Bach. In a two-hour live show, the internationally acclaimed musician now joins forces with the Orchestra of the Dresden State Operetta and the conductor Ralf Sochaczewsky, uniting sounds from three centuries in a musical mix for our times. Entertaining and amusing as he is in his trademark radio show, Sven Helbig presents the evening, welcoming guests and delving deep into his apparently infinite trove of musical tales.
