SONG RECITAL

MATTHIAS GOERNE & MARKUS HINTERHÄUSER

Matthias Goerne

The baritone Matthias Goerne is one of the most versatile and sought-after singers of his fach in the world. He appears regularly at great opera houses, concert halls and prestigious festivals, and has worked with almost all renowned conductors and orchestras of our times. When he performs a programme of Schumann songs at the Schauspielhaus in Dresden, this venue is a very special one to the musician, as his father, Dieter Görne, was this theatre’s intendant during the years following reunification, from 1990 to 2001. Matthias Goerne will be accompanied at the piano by the Austrian pianist Markus Hinterhäuser, himself the intendant of the Salzburg Festival; the two of them have enjoyed many years of intense collaboration.
