LOZAKOVICH — ROYAL STOCKHOLM PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA — HONECK

Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra
Manfred Honeck
Daniel Lozhakovich

Founded in 1902, the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra is among the leading orchestras in the world, and it comes to Dresden with one of the world’s most esteemed conductors, Manfred Honeck. They appeared together in 2022 at the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony, and their joint performance at the Kulturpalast will show once again that the chemistry is definitely right here. The matinee begins with a musical salute from a Swedish compatriot of the orchestra, Andrea Tarrodi, and then features a Nordic classic, Sibelius’ popular Violin Concerto. The soloist, Daniel Lozakovich, is also from Sweden, having developed from a child prodigy into a highly sought-after violinist. The finale is the Eighth Symphony by Dvořák, with its overabundance of melodic inventiveness, paying reverence to the composer’s Bohemian homeland.
