XAVIER SABATA & KEBYART

Audiences may expect a very personal songbook from an unusual cast of performers when Xavier Sabata and the saxophone quartet Kebyart from Barcelona share the stage at the Palais im Großen Garten. The celebrated countertenor and the ensemble, which is acclaimed for its passion and unusual programmes, have assembled a highly individual and multi-faceted songbook entitled »I Am an Unusual Thing«, based on the eponymous composition by Michael Nyman, which in turn deals with one of the last letters Mozart wrote in Vienna in 1787. It weaves together compositions from Vivaldi to Pärt, juxtaposing works of various epochs and styles in an intense, unusual context. A listening experience of a different kind, inviting us to rediscover music!
