»Sound & Science«, the successful cooperation of the Dresdner Musikfestspiele and Dresden’s Technical University, takes the audience into the world of contemporary real-time technologies. As studies show, the most intense musical experiences result primarily from live concert situations, because listeners experience a physical phenomenon and also contribute, so to speak, through their presence. At the Hygiene Museum, scientists from different fields will draw attention to the phenomenon of real-time remote presence in the event »Time to Get in Touch«, asking whether this differs from experiences with physical presence; and if so, whether it can be expanded by real-time experiences, and whether emotions can be transmitted in this way. Appropriately, after this discussion, which will be moderated by Marvin Rosé of the Leipzig University, the audience is invited to a »remote concert«, during which live music is presented remotely, using modern communication technologies.
