Yves Ytier

The Chilean violinist has been living and working in Germany since 2011. He studied modern violin in Santiago de Chile and at the Berlin University of the Arts. He completed his master and graduate studies in baroque violin at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where Mayumi Hirasaki was his teacher. As an orchestra musician, concertmaster and chamber music partner, he plays regularly with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, Concerto Köln, the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra, the Cölner Barockorchester and the Dresden Festival Orchestra. Yves Ytier also completed a degree in contemporary dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, dancing at the Trier Municipal Theatre under the direction of Susanne Linke and Urs Dietrich in 2015 and 2016. He is the choreographer and a dancer of the ensemble uBu, creating his ow pieces which focus on the relationship between music and movement and between musicians and dancers. In addition, he has explored the area of historical dance intensively for the past few years. His own ensemble, Europa Danzante, explores the potential of the relationship between baroque music, baroque dance and contemporary dance.
