Mónica Waismann

Mónica Waismann completed her violin studies with Marilyn McDonald at Oberlin College in Ohio (USA) and with Elizabeth Wallfisch at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She began her career as a baroque violinist in some of the most well-known European Early Music ensembles and orchestras, which took her on concert tours all around the world and led her to participate in numerous CD recordings. In 2003 Mónica Waisman founded the ensemble Harmonie Universelle together with Florian Deuter, giving regular concerts in Europe, North and South America and recording familiar and recently rediscovered repertoire on many CDs. She also plays with the ensemble Música Temprana, with which she has recorded unknown treasures of 18th-century musical literature from Latin America. She is a sought-after chamber musician, concertmaster and soloist with various ensembles. Mónica Waisman plays a violin by Matthieu Besseling, Amsterdam.
