Katharina Pöche

Katharina Pöche was born in Augsburg and received her first violin lessons from her father at the School of Singing and Music of the Mozart City of Augsburg; in 2001 she continued her studies with Jorge Sutil (Munich Philharmonic). From 2007 onwards she studied violin with Prof. Gerhard Schulz at the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2012 she studied as part of the Erasmus Programme with Prof. Stephan Picard at the Music Academy Hanns Eisler in Berlin. Starting with the 2013/14 season she had a three-year contract with the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig; from January 2017 she was associate concertmaster at the Coburg State Theatre for half a year. Katharina Pöche is a freelancer and plays regularly with the baroque orchestra La Banda, the Dresden Festival Orchestra and the Augsburg Philharmonic.
