Giacomo Tesini

Giacomo Tesini was born in Bologna and studied violin in Parma, completing his education with Vilmos Szabadi in Budapest, with Daniel Gaede in Nürnberg and with Giuliano Carmignola in Lucerne. He also studied baroque violin with Fiorenza De Donatis and Luca Giardini. In 2013 he received a scholarship of the Academia Montis Regalis in Mondovì, Italy. Since its founding he has been a member of the Orchestra Mozart Bologna. As a member of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra, he has performed under conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Andris Nelsons and Bernard Haitink. Furthermore he collaborates with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, the Orchestra da Camera di Mantova and the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra. Working with renowned Early Music ensembles has taken him to I Barocchisti, the Venice Baroque Orchestra, Nathalie Stutzmann’s ensemble Orfeo 55, Les Talens Lyriques and La Chambre Philharmonique. He is one of the founders of Spira Mirabilis, a project initiated by young musicians from all over the world which has won the Deutschlandfunk Encouragement Award and was named Cultural Ambassador of the European Union in 2012. Giacomo Tessini currently teaches at the Istituto Musicale Vincenzo Bellini in Catania.
