Christophe Robert

After studying violin at the Conservatoire de Bordeaux Jacques Thibaud with Micheline Lefebvre, he was admitted to the Conservatoire national supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Devy Erlih at the age of 17. Simultaneously, he obtained a Bachelor in musicology at the Sorbonne University. He did a postgraduate course in baroque violin with Lucy van Dael at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam's Sweelinck Academy and attented masterclasses with Isaac Stern, Augustin Dumay, Erick Friedman among others. Christophe Robert joined some of the best early music ensembles including Collegium Vocale Ghent, Musica Antiqua Köln, Les Arts Florissants, Les Talens Lyriques, Les Musiciens du Louvre and Le Concert d'Astree with whom he played in the greatest venues in Europe, Japan, the USA, Australia, China, Singapore. He was a member of the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées and of La Chambre Philharmonique. Christophe Robert teaches violin and baroque violin at the Conservatory Frédéric Chopin in Paris, as well as classical and romantic performance practice at the Paris Conservatory. In the field of chamber music, Christophe Robert is a founding member of the ensemble La Bergamasca and the Musicians de Monsieur Croche. In addition, he is regularly invited by numerous ensembles including Café Zimmermann and Il Gardellino.
