Benjamin Spillner

Benjamin Spillner was born in Berlin in 1978. At the age of seven, he began his violin lessons at the Tiergarten Music School. At the age of ten, he continued his music studies with Anne-Marie Brunner-Vince. Starting in 1997 he studied with Ulf Hoelscher in Karlsruhe, taking courses with Prof. Munteanu and Peter Eötvös, among others. Since 2011 he has been principal concertmaster of the Heidelberg Symphony Orchestra and a member of Ensemble Resonanz in Hamburg. In addition, he performs as a guest with Ensemble Modern, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, musikFabrik NRW, Ensemble Aventure and ascolta, the WDR Symphony Orchestra in Cologne and the Dresden Festival Orchestra. He works as a chamber musician and soloist as well.
