Richard Wagner »Götterdämmerung«

What began in 2023 with a concert performance of »Das Rheingold« and continued in 2024 with »Die Walküre«, in 2025 with »Siegfried« is now reaching its grand finale with the »Götterdämmerung« – a project that is no less than a redefinition of standards in Wagner interpretation. »The Wagner Cycles« is dedicated to a unique collaboration between academic expertise and practice, tackling Richard Wagner’s monumental opera tetralogy. Since 2023, the individual parts have been re-examined, rehearsed every year in close collaboration with a team of renowned academics and performed in historically informed performance practice in Dresden and abroad in major European music centers. The result enthrilled audiences and critics alike. The New York Times, for example, ranked the performance of  »Die Walküre« at Amsterdam's Concertgebouw on its list of the world’s best performances in 2024. Transparent orchestral sound and declamatory precision of the singers are also be guaranteed in »Götterdämmerung«. For the dramatic finale, the specially founded Dresden Festival Choir will add an impressive sonic dimension to the large-scale project.
