After the overwhelming success of Claudio Monteverdi’s »L’Orfeo« in the spring of 2023 at Dresden‘s Semper Opera, Rolando Villazón, Wolfgang Katschner and the lautten compagney BERLIN have put together another concert program. This revolves around the inner world of a modern person travelling to the center of their own soul – with all the emotional ups and downs that define our human existence. Musically, this journey is illustrated by works by Claudio Monteverdi and his contemporaries. At the time, the artform of the monody, a solo piece for voice with instrumental accompaniment, made it possible to reflect emotions and inner states through music. Rolando Villazón, who is not only one of the music world’s most successful and popular stars, but also entertains a huge community of listeners with his daily show »Klassik Radio Furioso«, will guide the audience through this program.
