Is music the food of love? This fascinating question, a perfect fit for this year’s festival motto »LOVE«, will be the focus of the latest edition of the series »Sound & Science«, which explores interesting scientific and musical issues. The so-called »cuddle hormone« oxytocin, which is released by hugs and kisses, among other triggers, is the focus. It is a true allrounder, boosting the immune system and reducing stress, fear and even pain. Thanks to its many positive effects on the body, oxytocin is occasionally called a »miracle hormone«. Whether and if the body releases the love hormone when people make and listen to music together is the question to be investigated live on this evening.
