TRILATERAL TALENT FACTORY
MORAWA CELLO ACADEMY

Almost to the day, the 200th anniversary of Carl Maria von Weber's death is being commemorated. While his work was viewed with suspicion by courtly circles in Dresden during his lifetime, it has been a powerful inspiration for subsequent generations. The Morawa Cello Academy is therefore delighted to present his music in a previously unheard way, performed by a trilateral cello orchestra. Every year, German, Polish, and Czech cellists between the ages of 12 and 25 meet at Pałac Morawa (Lower Silesia) to learn from one another and perform in a spirit of friendship. Transcending age boundaries, the shared love of Polish cuisine, Czech humor, and this year, the joy of German hospitality, are the cornerstones of this international cello friendship. This will find its sonic expression in the evening at the Dresden University of Music, moderated in three languages, where compositions from all three countries will be heard in arrangements never heard before.
