MOZART'S WOMEN
MARTINA GEDECK & SEBASTIAN KNAUER

Internationally acclaimed actress Martina Gedeck and renowned pianist Sebastian Knauer invite you on an evocative journey through time in words and music, tracing the biographical footsteps of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. None other than Baroness Martha Elisabeth von Waldstätten, once his close confidante and a prominent figure in Viennese high society, candidly shares anecdotes in an imagined soliloquy – about the composer and the important women in his life. These include his wife Constanze, her sister Aloisia Weber, his cousin Marianne Thekla Mozart, and Nancy Storace, the first Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. Works by Mozart, closely associated with some of his piano students, provide a rich musical backdrop to these confessions, offering a unique, humorous, and at times intimate glimpse onto the great composer and his emotional life.
