KIAN SOLTANI: »CELLO UNLIMITED«

Kian Soltani is one of the most innovative and creative artists on his instrument. His passion for films and their soundtracks has been with him since childhood. On the album "Cello Unlimited," which won an OPUS Klassik award in the "Innovative Listening Experience" category, the musician has dedicated himself to the great melodies of the silver screen and aims to "transport listeners into emotional and epic worlds." As if he were the lead and supporting actors, director, and film crew all rolled into one, Soltani recorded every part himself – sometimes up to 40 voices! In the festival concert, fellow cellists will provide the grand orchestral sound. In addition to famous melodies from well-known films, two of his own cinema-inspired compositions will also be performed. And where better to present this musical cinematic extravaganza than in Dresden's iconic Schauburg cinema, built in the Roaring Twenties according to the plans of architect Martin Pietzsch!
