PURE BEAUTY
JANINE JANSEN & CAMERATA SALZBURG
The Dutch violinist Janine Jansen is one of the most celebrated artists of her instrument, touching and enrapturing listeners worldwide with her passionate music-making and stupendous technical prowess. Now, the likeable virtuoso finally makes her debut at the Dresdner Musikfestspiele. Her musical partner is the Camerata Salzburg – in a collaboration both sides consider a unique stroke of good fortune. This spirit is sure to imbue their interpretation of the famous Violin Concerto in E-minor by Mendelssohn, whose melodically flowing beginning Jansen has described as »pure beauty«. With the »Reformation Symphony«, composed for the 300th anniversary of the »Augsburg Confession«, the Camerata Salzburg then dedicates itself to another milestone by the same composer. The program is rounded out by the Orchestra Suite No. 2 by Bach, the baroque grandmaster whose rediscovery during the 19th century was driven by Mendelssohn in no small part.
