Anyone who loves the cello cannot ignore him: Friedrich Dotzauer. Born in 1783, this cellist and composer performed as soloist with the legendary Dresden Court Orchestra earning a reputation as one of the finest virtuosos of his time. Concert tours took him throughout Germany and the Netherlands, and as a teacher, he influenced countless cellists. Norbert Anger, Sebastian Fritsch, and Friedrich Thiele, the three cello concertmasters of the Staatskapelle Dresden, follow in Dotzauer's footsteps and invite you to discover his oeuvre. Arrangements of popular opera melodies, duets, and solo pieces offer a rich and resonant glimpse into the work of this great musician.
