Duo Aliada

»Exceptionally talented and creative musicians« –with these words the Vienna Musikverein described the Duo Aliada, which consists of saxophonist Michał Knot and accordionist Bogdan Laketić. Founded in 2013, the duo’s success story began that same year with their first prize at the »12th Fidelio Competition«. Shortly thereafter, the artists quickly earned the attention of the classical music world. The performed more than 150 concerts in 35 countries on five continents, including such prestigious venues as the Vienna Musikverein, Carnegie Hall in New York, Tonhalle Zürich, and the Hermitage Theater in St. Petersburg.

In 2018, the duo won the third place at the US-American »M-Prize Competition«, one of the world’s most important chamber music competitions.
Duo Aliada released its highly acclaimed debut album, »New Colours of the Past«, on ARS Produktion and was selected for the prestigious Austrian Foreign Ministry’s support program, »The New Austrian Sound of Music«, in 2016. Their latest album, »East West«, was released in 2021 on Hänssler Klassik and received rave reviews from the music press in a short period of time.

This season, the artists will make their debuts at prominent venues such as the Grafenegg Festival, the Istanbul Music Festival, the Berlin Konzerthaus, the Munich Residenz, and the MITO SettembreMusica Festival in Milan and Turin. They will also return to renowned festivals including the Kissinger Sommer and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.

Duo Aliada regularly appears on popular European broadcasters such as Ö1, SWR2, BR-Klassik, and Klassik Radio, sharing their music with an ever-growing global audience.
