Barbara Auer

The actress Barbara Auer, born in 1959, performed between 1999 and 2022 at venues such as the St. Pauli Theater, the Hamburger Kammerspiele, the Ruhrfestspiele, and the Vienna Burgtheater. She also appeared in numerous television and film productions, including »The State I Am In« (2000) and »Transit« (2017) by Christian Petzold, the novel adaptation »The Book Thief« (2013) directed by Brian Percival, »Vacuum« (2016) directed by Christine Repond, the tragicomedy »What Doesn’t Kill Us« (2017) by Sandra Nettelbeck, and the historical three-part series »The Price of Freedom« directed by Michael Krummenacher. Barbara Auer received numerous awards for her performances, including the prize as Best Actress at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival PÖFF in 2017 for her role in »Vacuum«, the »Hannelore-Elsner-Preis« in 2019, and most recently the »Deutsche Fernsehpreis« in 2020. In addition, she was honored with the Special Prize of the Deutsche Akademie der Darstellenden Künste as well as with the »Grimme-Preis«, the »Deutsche Filmpreis«, and the »Goldene Kamera«.
