The Dresden Airport lies 9 km north of city center. There is a direct S-Bahn connection to the city (with a journey time of 23 minutes). You can also take a shuttle bus or a taxi which takes 15 - 30 minutes to the city (approx. 20 EUR; tel. +49(0)351-211 211).

By rail

Railway connection is available to Dresden Central Railway Station (Dresden Hauptbahnhof) from all cities of Germany. Many trains also stop at Dresden-Neustadt.

There is a comfortable CityNight Line from Zurich to Dresden via Basel, Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Frankfurt/Main.

By car

If you wish to travel to Dresden by car, use the highway A13 or A4 if you come from north (Berlin) or west (Leipzig, Chemnitz).

Exit the highway at »Dresden Hellerau« (from north) or »Dresden Altstadt« (from west) and follow the signs indicating the city center.

If you come from the south (Prague) use the highway A17 and exit the highway at »Dresden Südvorstadt«.
