Glashütte - Uhrenmanufaktur Glashütte

Altenberger Str. 1
01768 Glashütte

Mechanical masterpieces have been manufactured in the city of Glashütte since 1845. During the 160-year-old history of the manufactory, the watchmakers have achieved keeping their special knowledge and ever rarer human experience alive.

Glashütte Original is one of the few remaining authentic watch manufactories in the world. The characteristic elements of classic Glashütte watchmaking such as the swan-neck fine adjustment and the famous three-quarter plate can be found in their exclusive collections. Hand engravings, manually polished surfaces, and beveled edges on filigreed movement components show the manufactory‘s obligation to »Handmade in Germany«.

The transparent manufactory, the watch museum, and the Alfred Helwig School of Watchmaking are special contributions to watch culture. The manufactory also developed into a cultural meeting place for friends of culture and arts. Regular concerts, readings and exhibitions in the Atrium of the house care for special experiences to feel and administer time. The SAECULUM-Award which is annually bestowed upon outstanding musicians for their life’s work stands for the manufactory’s extraordinary cultural commitment.
