Kleines Haus

Glacisstraße 28
01099 Dresden

The Small House was the first place after the war in Dresden, where theatre was happening. On October 8th 1945 »Nathan, the Sage« with Erich Ponto was presented. In 1998, the building was closed as a result of static problems and a lack of fire protection. On 18th July 1998, the legendary production from the time of the German Reunion (»Die Ritter der Tafelrunde« by Christoph Hein, directed by Klaus Dieter Kirst) was the last show before closing the theatre.

Fortunately the venue, which always meant a lot to the people of Dresden, could be reopened again on January 15th 2005. »Der Mann ohne Vergangenheit« (»The Man without past« after Aki Kaurismäki) was the debut performance.
